Weld County EOC Invite

I’d like to invite everyone to the Weld county EOC at 1150 O St; that’s Ost, not a zero st, Greeley Co on Saturday, May 21st at noon. There may be a possibility that you may need to staff the EOC in Greeley for a brief period. I want everybody to have the opportunity to look at the lay of the land at this fine EOC.

During the tour, you’ll get to meet some of the people you might be dealing with from the EOC, where the equipment placement is, and what you might need to assist with radio coverage. Soon we will be equipping EOC with a microwave dish linking it to the Rocky Mountain ham backbone, giving us additional services for the community.

Weekly Net

ARES R1D1 will be conducting our Weekly Net at 19:00 on Thursdays. The first Thursday of each month will be a DMR net on Rocky Mountain Hams North Talk Group. The remainder of the months nets will be analog on the 447.275 repeater (- offset)(Tone 100Hz).

As ARES members we should always be prepared to communicate with whatever tools are available and fit the need.  DMR communications are becoming much more widespread, and are used almost exclusively at the state level.  To help us all become familiar and comfortable with this mode, we will be using DMR for the first ARES Weekly Net of each month.  We will be using the Rocky Mountain Ham Radio Talk Group 721 – Northern Colorado to conduct these DMR Nets.  If you need a code plug for your radio, take a look at the RMHam site: https://www.rmham.org/wordpress/sample-codeplugs/ as they have many sample code plugs for various radios, or if you just need a specific repeaters information to program into your radio.

The goal is to make sure our members are familiar with this mode.  If you have a DMR capable radio, get it programmed and try it out.  If you have any questions or problems contact us, and we can help you out.  If you don’t have a radio and would like to try, we have a limited number of radios that can be loaned.  Let us know any way that we can help you.
